Let More Deaths By Onunkwo J. Chinedu

I see the earth moving tractor

Pacing along this road again

Raising dusts and anger

As it works to work in our minds

But the villagers are no longer fools

I have been around for long to know this ritual

It comes every four years

But now, there is no voting

The Ikoro was beaten last night

I think it’s the Minister

I know the man

Served under two governments

Yet this town is no testimony

But VIPs will come

And all roads will lead to our town

The roads will be done

Shame only seems to rise in death

I pray to Amadioha

I pray to Anị

Let more deaths come

Let’s have our roads done.
